Piano Studio

Piano Lessons at the newly constructed Lee Street Studio in Tucson are full of movement, creativity, singing, chanting, and - playing the piano, of course! My teaching approach is based on the "Music Learning Theory" of Edwin Gordon, which treats learning music in the same way that you learn a language. Students internalize musical patterns and ideas through various activities, explore and play with those patterns, and eventually learn to interpret those patterns on the music staff, after a thorough musical foundation has been laid.

Lessons are generally held as private 1-1 instruction time, but group and partner lessons are interspersed throughout the year as an enhancement to students' education.
